Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

Introduction

Triton Montessori Educare (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the tritonmontessori.co.nz website. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

Information We Collect

When a parent or guardian submits an enquiry or books a visit, we may collect their name, email address, phone number, message, preferred visit date and time, and booking or confirmation status. We may also collect the child’s age and programme of interest so we can respond appropriately.

Our website infrastructure processes technical information such as IP address, browser and device information, and request metadata. If you accept analytics cookies, we may also collect page and session activity and store campaign-source information such as landing page, referrer, UTM parameters, and Google click identifiers (including gclid, gbraid, or wbraid) for up to 90 days.

Early Childhood Enrolment Privacy Statement

We collect information, including personal information (e.g. enrolment and attendance) about your child, which is shared with the Ministry of Education, who stores it securely and treats it in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020.

The Ministry of Education collects and holds this information for the following purposes:

  • for funding allocation
  • for monitoring compliance with the Education (Early Childhood Services) Regulations 2008 and related criteria, and the ECE Funding Handbook
  • to assign a National Student Number* to your child,
  • for statistical and resourcing purposes
  • to allow the Minister or Secretary of Education to exercise any of their other powers or responsibilities under Education and Training Act 2020,
  • as permitted by the Privacy Act 2020.

Information collected may be shared with other government agencies where required by legislation, or to meet an agreed purpose, and in accordance with the government’s direction for greater inter-agency data sharing.

You have the right to request access to or correction of personal information that the Ministry of Education holds about you. Contact information for the Ministry can be found here: National office - Ministry of Education.

Completed enrolment forms and related information may be accessed by authorised Ministry officials on request, for monitoring, licensing, and funding administration purposes.

* A National Student Number is a unique identifier for your child within the education system. You can find more information about National Student Numbers and what they are used for at National Student Number (NSN) » NZQA.

Early childhood services can find out more information about NSN assignment – including acceptable identity verification documents – at: National Student Numbers (NSN) – Education in New Zealand.

The Ministry recommends keeping a record of identity verification documents that have been sighted, but not retaining copies of identity verification documents, which if received, should be securely destroyed once verified.

How We Use Your Information

We use personal information to:

  • respond to enquiries about our early childhood education services;
  • arrange, confirm, reschedule, or cancel visits;
  • communicate about enrolment at our Rosedale, Auckland centre;
  • operate, secure, and improve our website and services; and
  • understand which campaigns and sources lead to confirmed visits.

We collect and use information only for purposes connected with Triton Montessori’s functions and activities and in accordance with the Information Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 2020.

Consent and Choices

Providing enquiry or booking information is voluntary, but we may not be able to respond or arrange a visit without the required details. Optional analytics and advertising measurement is controlled by the cookie choice shown on our website. If you decline, the related Google consent signals remain denied. You can withdraw a stored choice through your browser’s cookie and site-data settings.

Data Storage, Security, and Overseas Processing

We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information from loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. Our website and database use cloud services, and some providers may process information outside New Zealand. Where an overseas provider processes information on our behalf, Triton Montessori remains responsible for how that information is handled.

Third-Party Service Providers

We use the following providers only as needed to operate and measure the website:

  • Cloudflare — website delivery, security, and aggregate web analytics; may process IP addresses and request metadata.
  • Google Analytics and Google Ads — website analytics, campaign attribution, consent signals, and conversion measurement.
  • Railway — application and database hosting.
  • Resend — transactional email delivery for enquiries and visit bookings.

Data Retention

We generally retain enquiry and visit-booking information for up to two years from submission, or for the duration of an enrolment relationship when relevant. Consented campaign attribution stored in the browser expires after up to 90 days. We may retain information longer where reasonably required for legal, security, or record-keeping purposes.

Your Rights Under the Privacy Act 2020

You may:

  • request access to personal information we hold about you;
  • request correction of inaccurate information; and
  • ask us to delete information that we no longer need to retain.

Contact us at admin@tritonmontessori.co.nz. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Cookies and Advertising Measurement

Our website uses essential storage for site functionality and administration. If you select “OK” on the cookie banner, Google consent signals for analytics storage, advertising storage, advertising user data, and advertising personalisation are granted. Google Analytics and Google Ads may then use cookies or local storage in accordance with Google’s policies to measure website use and understand whether advertising leads to confirmed visits. If you select “Opt out”, these consent signals remain denied and optional first-party campaign attribution is not retained.

When a visit booking is confirmed, analytics and advertising measurement may receive a pseudonymous booking or transaction identifier and available campaign-source information. We do not include the parent’s name, email address, phone number, or the child’s details in that analytics or advertising event. When storage consent is denied, Google tags may still send limited cookieless consent and conversion signals through Google Consent Mode.

Children’s Privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through this website. Enquiry and visit-booking information, including a child’s age or programme of interest, is supplied by a parent or guardian and is not included in analytics or advertising conversion events.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
